Modified with a 1986 Mazda 13B Rotary engine with electronic distributor and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. The Rotary engine has 130-146 HP, more than the 85 HP of the normal MGB straight four. It’s matched with a Mazda 5-speed manual transmission with a racing clutch.
Additional upgrades include:
- Roll bar.
- Four-point (racing) seat belts.
- Cast iron rear end.
- Modified drive shaft.
- Traction arms installed on the rear leaf springs.
- 3/4 inch sway bars front and rear.
- Aluminum Mag wheels with P205/60R14 tires.
- 12-volt engine cooling fan.
- Single 12-volt battery with battery disconnect behind the passenger seat. Car was rewired to a 12-volt system.
- Newer soft top.
- Removable face plate stereo with speakers.
- Painted front rubber air dam.
The vehicle body was totally repaired and repainted Aqua Blue in 2009.
Mileage unknown – The broken speedometer was replaced after purchase.
This vehicle has been well kept and garage kept.
This car just won 1st Place for Custom Classic at The River Car Show on 9 May 2024.
The price is lower than the $16,314 appraisal and the $17,242 average of market comparables.
